These are just basic disruptor weapons, they bear a passing resemblance to the weapons you will hold in your hand if you choose one. I think the fact they resemble Fed phasers is just a coincidence or Cryptic reusing old icons. Those images are very small and not a lot of detail can be added without losing the overall concept that the artwork is trying to portray, so they use similar icons to other weapons of similar class, either that or they are just lazy! Just my 2 pennies worth there Doc.
