NEWS

MRP ends this Thursday evening, prizes will be issued on Friday from around 9pm. This will be at Q's Winter Wonderland. Any prizes that cannot be handed out will be mailed or traded later when the player is online.

MRP will resume on Monday 2nd January 2023

CHANGES TO MRP FOR 2023

There will be a few adjustments to MRP for next year. Changes will be designed to equalise the playing field between the high-end veterans and the new players. Of course, the best way to win or finish high in the points is to take part in as many events as possible. Details on any changes will be released in a future blog.

DPS LEAGUE

We now have two new build types which have been added to the DPS leagues these are as follows:

SS - Surgical Strikes - Where the major damage done by the player ship is with

surgical strikes (cannons or beams)

For build matching in the member's comments in the fleet roster use SS.

DC - DEW Carrier or Directed Energy Weapon Carrier

We are splitting carrier builds into Science carriers or EPG carriers and DEW Carriers. Science Carriers will continue to be classed as Carriers in the league naming convention and will have a commander science bridge officer station. DEW Carriers will be classed as DC in the naming convention. So if you are adding your build type in the member's comment in the roster then you would use either Carrier or DC.

DEW Carriers will have either an engineering commander station or a tactical commander station. EPG Carriers will produce most of their damage from science abilities or science-boosted weapons, e.g. grav well, plasma storm, gravimetric rifts etc. DEW Carriers will produce most of their damage from their weapons and pets, for example, CSV, BO, FAW, TORPS and pets damage.

IMPLICATIONS

These two other build types will increase the total number of points available for you to earn in the league. The league thresholds for each ranking are not changing, but there are another two ranks which you will see on the hall of fame in the next day or so, these are ranks above the current highest Legendary rank. These are Kirk and Q, look out for them soon.

NEW REWARDS

2023 will have more emphasis on the DPS leagues and will offer prizes for reaching certain ranks. Look out for a new blog on this before the new year starts.

MERITS

2023 will have more things you can do with your merits. So if you are thinking of trading them in for MRP points bear in mind that you may want to keep them for next year.

Cats

Cats have not been banned in QWW but they have had their speed buff removed. This is due to them having an advantage in the PvP race. If you think, like I do that this sucks, then make your feelings known to Cryptic.
