How to climb the DPS league ranks

SRS operate our own DPS leagues as many of you know. For those who don't know here are some tips on how to climb that board and be in with a chance of winning prizes at the end of the year.

You can access the Space DPS Leagues from the button above the menu bar on most website pages, from the MRP menu list or directly here: https://www.srs-fleet.net/srs-dps-leagues

In our league we are competing in far more than just ISE and HSE as in the other DPS leagues, in fact, we currently have 15 systems in which you can gain points, these are:

Each one of these 15 systems can be parsed and logged, your build is also logged and we have 9 different builds you can enter which are:

Points are awarded depending on where you are in that league, from 100 points to first place to 1 point for 100th place.

If you are a master of one particular build, say EPG, and you can get first place in all the leagues, that would give you 15 leagues at 100 points per league, totalling 1500 points.

Currently, I am leading the league with over 10,000 points and that's because I have all 9 build types in all leagues, not because I am necessarily the best player, I'm not bad but I'm not the best.

The maximum score you can currently get therefore is 15 x 100 x 9 = 13,500.

Build diversification

Achieving 13,500 points is probably impossible, but achieving 10,000 points is well within most players capabilities given time and effort. But even achieving a very respectable 2250 points only requires you to have 5 build types in all leagues and reaching 50th place in each.

Let's say you specialise in FAW, CSV, EPG, Carrier (which is almost the same as EPG) and CRF (almost the same as CSV), that's 5 build types and you can do really well in them, getting in the top 5 in each league. Let's say you reach 5th place in each league, 5th place gives you 96 points, so your total is 5 (build types) x 96 (points) x 15 (leagues) = 7200 points, that would put you in 3rd overall place, giving you the Hall of Fame badge of Exceptional and steering you towards a 125 million EC prize at the end of the year.

Using the DPS league intelligently

When a call out for a logged event is being made in chat, indicate you want to go but you are checking, e.g. you see:

Parsed-Infected: The Conduit - [Keyword=Static warp bubble]

So you write: Static Warp bubble - checking

The CFOPS know that you are coming but may want to change toons.

Go to the DPS league and select the ISE league, then look down to see which builds you don't have in that league, it will show something like this:

Here we can see that the player only has CSV in this league, so any other build they run will give them a big boost in points.

Rewards:

Rewards for taking part are as follows:

  1. Sense of achievement

  2. Beating your fellow players

  3. Beating your own best

  4. Learning how to improve your builds

  5. Hall of Fame badges

  6. Entry to the prize draw at the end of the year, details here: https://www.srs-fleet.net/mrpprizes2021

  7. It's a lot of fun

Everyone is eligible to take part and with 100 places to fill in the league (we are up to 65 so far) you are more or less guaranteed to get in the overall ranking no matter how you perform at the moment.

Like everything else, you've got to be in it to win it, so give it a go, improve your game, compete with your friends and aim to be the best you can be.
