New Year - New ways of doing things

Hey everyone, MRP is over for 2021 and I'm looking forward to starting our Star Trek adventures in 2022. There are a few changes for next year I'd like to inform you of.

New Sector Missions

These missions are similar to the SRS Search and Rescue missions but concentrate only on a particular sector. The one shown above is the Celes Sector in the beta quadrant and contains some great elite battles and an unusual detective investigation, some of you may have done this before, if not you will find it interesting I'm sure. I will be putting together more sector missions over the holidays and they will incorporate a variety of missions, some may even include episodes set in that sector.

Tours

I'm ending the tours because they basically take too long, the Sector Missions will take their place.

Elite Fleets

The DPS requirements to enter the elite fleets have gone up, however, once you are in you don't have to leave if you don't maintain your average DPS. The elite fleets no longer reward EC as mentioned in another blog, however, they will be kept stocked with the best gear, and you should only wear the elite fleet uniform on characters that are actually in the fleet.

Requirements are as follows:

SRS MACO SPEC OPS

minimum average DPS 150,000

minimum of 25 MRP events

Section 47 -SRS-

minimum average DPS 250,000

minimum of 50 MRP events

People who are currently in the elite fleets will now stay there as long as they want.

New invites will go out as soon as people qualify. If you leave the fleet you will have to requalify to get back in.

DPS Leagues

There will no longer be prizes for the DPS leagues, however, you will still earn badges and be added to the Hall of Fame on the website. The leagues have been wiped and are ready to go for January. Your results will stay in the league for the whole year, there is no rollover anymore as I found a way around the Google sheet cell limit.

It's possible a ground DPS league will be introduced, this will depend on how active the space DPS league is, if not many people bother with it then I won't waste my time duplicating the system for the ground.

KDF Events

There will be a lot more KDF events this coming year, we have seen a big rise in the popularity of the KDF fleet and so I would advise you to work on your Klingons, especially if you have the Klingon recruit, the endeavour advantage is massive and should not be missed, an additional 10% extra endeavour points on all characters on account when you reach 1 million endeavour points on your recruit. We will finish the KDF Fleet colony this year and we will be one of the few fleets in the game with a fully maxed out KDF fleet.

SRS is 10 years old

On June 18th SRS celebrates its 10th year. We will be celebrating the event with competitions and missions, there will be prizes for everyone and one lucky person will win something truly amazing. Remember though, you've got to be in it to win it, so make sure you're taking part in as many events as you can.

Bear with me

I've had to make a lot of changes to the sheets this year in preparation for next year, there may well be some bugs that show up when we start running events again, please bear with me as I correct and update the sheets.

Exploration

Always a difficult task within Star Trek Online, exploration has to be done with imagination, with the loss of the foundry it's not been easy to make this side of the game interesting and Cryptic don't help as they have zero imagination except when it comes to making ships. So we will continue with our exploration missions, you can individually earn a large amount of EXP (1 EXP = 1 MRP) which will boost your score, see our exploration page for more details. We will also continue with our field trips and data from these events will be added to our database on the website.

CFOPS

There are always new positions available for CFOPS, if you would like to host events and gain a boost to your score then please contact me for details. CFOPS will now earn an additional 10% of their MRP score added to their final score.

Admin positions

As with all large organisations personnel are changing positions all the time and no doubt there will be vacancies arising next year, if you are interested in any admin positions let me know. We are always looking for recruitment officers.

People with senior admin positions are expected to maintain a regular presence in the game and on Discord/Facebook/Twitter etc, those who stop playing for a while can expect to have their position reassigned to someone else after due consultation.
