The Cost of SRS

I was asked the other day if the donations received from the website paid for every cost in the fleet, e.g. website, prizes etc. The answer sadly was a big fat negative. So for fun, I added up all the prizes this year and here are the costs.

To buy this much EC I usually buy 27600 Zen for £160, this will get me around 3 billion EC from either keys or Promo pack sales, depending what is on at the time.

So 14.4B EC divided by 3B = 4.8, let's say 5 lots of 27600 Zen (If I'm lucky there will be a Zen sale but I only recall one this year).

So 5 X £160 = £800

That's the cost of the Prizes this year approximately.

In addition, the website costs £140 a year. Donations to date are £140 so that pays for the website and is greatly appreciated. Sometimes people donate items or ships which help of course, but the rough overall cost per year is around £800 - £1000 that's $1120 - $1400 a year.

So that's why donations are so useful to help offset the cost. I am not a rich person, far from it, I do this because it's my hobby but I may have to call in some costs in the future as this is probably not sustainable when I add my personal spend on the game into the equation the total is frightening and if my wife knew she'd have a fit LOL.

Anyway, there is your answer the person who asked.
